Wheeler Peak 2008!

Wheeler Peak is the highest peak in New Mexico and the 8th tallest peak in the United States at 13,161 feet. Jason, Butch, Jordan and I hiked the peak yesterday. It took us about 8 hours for the entire 16 mile hike. It was both physically and mentally challenging. (I wanted to quit about 5 times!) Along the hike, even though it was tough, we did see cool views and animals. We hiked past alpine lakes, viewed marmots (hairy, cute rodents) from afar and finally made it to the top for awesome vistas! We wanted to share these photos with you all. Enjoy!
